Nicolas Flamel
Nicolas Flamel, född i Pontoise en stad nära Paris i Frankrike, död , var skrivare vid Paris universitet, skriftställare och alkemist. Enligt legenden skall han ha funnit de vises sten och blivit odödlig.
Flamel gifte sig med en rik änka och blev med tiden mycket förmögen på inte fullt känt sätt, kanske genom affärsförbindelser med de på den tiden hårt förföljda judarna, vilkas egendom han tog i förvar och övertog vid ägarnas död. Han ska ha grundat flera sjukhus och kapell och donerade stora mängder pengar till kyrkor. Han lät uppföra ett hus på 51 rue de Montmorency i Paris, Auberge Nicolas Flamel, vilket numera är ett historiskt minnesmärke.
Det berättas att han blev alkemist och kunde göra guld.

Nicolas Flamel (French:[nikɔlaflamɛl]; c. – 22 March )[1] was a French écrivain public, a draftsman of public documents such as contracts, letters, agreements and requests. He and his wife also ran a school that taught this trade.
Long after his death, Flamel developed a reputation as an alchemist believed to have created and discovered the philosopher's stone and to have thereby achieved immortality. These legendary accounts first appeared in the 17th century. According to texts ascribed to Flamel almost years after his death, he had learned alchemical secrets from a Jewishconverso on the road to Santiago de Compostela. He has since appeared as a legendary alchemist in various fictional works.
In modern historical publications Flamel is also often referred to as a copyist of manuscripts and a book seller, but research by M. and R. Rouse has demonstrated that
